Hello to all!

I was searching for a Music man guitar on line and surprisingly I came across some nice ones on Amazon.com and was wondering how reliable are they to deal with. The problem is I can't seem to find who to contact in order to ask questions about the guitar. Anybody here make a purchase for a Music man with them?

Thanks.

Never bought a guitar through Amazon, though I've bought other items. I'd imagine that if the guitar has the features you're looking for, then it should be a smooth purchase.

I just looked at the Stealth JP they have available. There is a link at the bottom of the page if you need to get in touch with their customer service department.

Same as Tony. Never purchased a guitar from them but have bought several smaller items. Always professional and timely to do business with.

Thanks for all the input.
I did contact Amazon and this is what they had to say.

"Please allow me to explain that our Customer Service centers are not in the same location as our fulfillment centers. Amazon.com offers hundreds of thousands of items in our own inventory, and the fulfillment center buildings enclose millions of square feet. In addition, many of our fulfillment center processes are automated and computerized.

For these reasons, we are unable to check the physical details of an item for you. Our information is limited to what the publishers and manufacturers supply to us; this information appears on our Web site.

All the information we have about the items offered on our web site is displayed on each item's product detail page or is accessible from that page. Usually, we have the manufacturer and item name, a photo that can be enlarged, product specifications, and product reviews by our editors and customers. Often, we also provide technical information, answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), and a list of similar products.

I am sorry for not being able to provide you with any further information regarding this item that you had expected it from us, kindly rest assured that the manufacturer customer service must be able to answer your query to your satisfaction.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com."

I feel very confident in the merchandise especially a Music Man Guitar but I think I'm going to deal with a music retailer that can personally help me with my purchase.

Unfortunately, that's the case. It's like calling Musician's Friend. The CS and the item in question are rarely in the same place.

Amazon does have good quality products available, and they do have a good return policy. If they have the guitar you're looking for, then I'd still give it a shot. You'd also have the confidence of buying a MM guitar, and have their awesome customer service behind you.

You could contact Woodwind and Brasswind to see if they can track down the particular guitar you're interested in, but the situation could be the same.

Electric Guitar, Solid Body Electric, Music Man at WWBW.

But, if that isn't your particular brand of vodka, then you can contact a dealer or get in touch with customer service to see who might have the guitar you're looking for.

Amazon is the best! I order a few things from them per week (everything from books to shoes, dog food, DVDs, MP3s, cat stereos ... even a TV). I've had great customer service the one time I needed to contact them.

also - they have this thing called "Amazon Prime". Its a membership for $70/yr that gets you free 2 day & $4 for 1 day shipping. Kindof awesome. + in CA there's no tax :)

i understand if they dont have all the specs of an item but as far as customer service goes theyre pretty amazing

I have always thought that Amazon seems to have a little more integrity than other sights.

Did any one see the cool Silhouette T-Shirts

I wonder if these are EB authorized.

But I do like that it is a silhouette of a Silhouette

Yeah - the key is to make sure it is sold by Amazon directly. Otherwise the 'Amazon Prime' benefits won't apply, and returns/refunds are handled by the selling company.

I agree that Amazon is great - but some of their 3rd party resellers aren't so great.

FYI
There are only 6 Music Man and Sterling guitars and basses presented for sale at Amazon.com that are sold by Woodwind and Brasswind. I looked at a dozens of others and each one I looked at said "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com"

I wouldn't hesitate on a guitar purchase from Amazon. My experience with them has been outstanding. As well, the other three big mail order music sellers have all been pretty good. I ordered a Martin D-15 from one of the big three online and it shipped free and fast and was in better shape than any of them I demo'd in stores. It was in a brand new unopened box from the manufacturer. So, in some respects the online avenue is good.

There is also Pete Dubaldo to look at for purchase.

It's true, one can get great personalized customer service at the local music shop, but it comes at a premium most times; there are exceptions.
