I'm playing a Sterling bass through an Ampeg SVT3-PRO attached to an Eden 2x10 XLT. My problem is mids and highs "disappearing" in some of the mix. I would like them to stay as solid and pronounced as my lows but not overwhelming. Any suggestions on my bass amp settings or anything else? Thanks in advance.

BTW.....I do have a fretless I will use from time to time that does cut through in the mix the way I would like the Sterling to. The fretless is passive and I don't change the EQ or knobs on the amp. That is a part of the reason I'm stumped.

How are you running the EQ on the bass and the amp. I have had similar problems with MM basses. You can get to the root of the problem by setting everything flat on the bass and the amp and start from there. You may need to work a little at dialing in your sound with the combo you have. The Eden cab is particularly bassy, if you are running the amp with a lot of bass that might be a bit of a problem too. Let us know how you have stuff set and we can go from there.

Absolutely, start with everything flat and then start to slowly bump up some of the eq faders that are above the 120Hz region. Allso, I've found with SVTs that the Ultra Lo button really scoops out the mids and makes them go so if you're using that button maybe try turning it off.
Good luck though.
