Alllrighty you Ampeg Heads,

There's a 68 B25 for sale on the local craigslist. $400 for the head, $300 for the matching B25-B cab (with 2 18's - yeeeouch my back hurts just thinking about it). Any thoughts, suggestions, fears???

Thanks

That is a model I know nothing about what so ever, but I'd jump all over it!

My 1966 Ampeg B-18-N cost me 750.00 and another 300.00 to restore it. I'm no expert but there is a lot of love for old Ampeg stuff, I wish I could be of more help. Two 18's and if they work good and don't need to be reconed I think is a great deal. The head will be of low power, but my B-18-N is the best sounding amp I have, only 80 watts, but tone to the bone!:D

I can find out more if you have time, it will take a day or two to reach my experts.

B25 isn't that the old 50 Watt version of the Portaflex ?? Nice sound, but 40W is a bit weedy for beating down an enthusiastic drummer, and the replacement valve set could cost an arm and a leg nowadays.

average used prices - http://www.prepal.com/data/Ampeg.htm
