Hello all,

I hope this is the right place to post an introduction. Please excuse me if not, as I see no other obvious spot.

Just wandering over from the Hamer Fan Club... someone over there posted a thread about a Petrucci guitar that got me intrigued. A few comments later others chimed in with their love of their EBMMs.

I'm sure I'll have to try one or two in the near future. I'm not sure which model intrigues me most yet, but it is probably the JP6.

I figured I'd sign up here to read more and learn more about the models.

Anyway, just saying hello.

Welcome Mitch!

This is the beginning of the end!
You are now hooked. You cannot escape. Expect to purchase at least 2 or 3EBMMs. Get ready for G.A.S. as you never thought it existed. Hurry and put all you money in accounts that you cannot have access too. This forum is like nothing else out there................
I can go on and on, but you'll soon understand what I mean. :D;)

Greetings from another HFC member!

Both EBMM and Hamer are my guitars of choice anymore, love 'em both. My GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) has finally come pretty much to an end. Both manufactures make quality instruments and are very different from eachother, don't know of any Hamer that is similar to a EBMM in current production and no EBMM is anything close what Hamer currently makes.

I've very happy with both, but would love to add a Hamer Taladega to the corral before the Fender takeover possibly screws with the quality of Hamer. I'd also love to have a EBMM JP6 as well, then I'd be a happy camper and my GAS would end.

I took me 25 years and 40 or so guitars to make me happy, and my #1 go-to guitar is the EBMM Albert Lee by a longshot, but still dig #2 Hamer DuoTone for the semi-hollow Duncan tone with the piezo tone to boot.

Good luck in your search for a JP, great guitars!

Really?! I don't think they've found a cure for that yet have they? :)

Thanks for the welcome, all. I spent my first few moments (ok hours) on this board just looking at all the pictures. The GAS is in full upswing at the moment.

Hamer USA does indeed build some fantastic guitars, and from what those guys are saying over there, I have to check out these, too. I'm still amazed people dont flock to these brands over the bigger makers. It's nice to know the truth though and be able to snag world class instruments at reasonable prices.

Again, thanks everyone. I'll be reading...

Some people are like pawns and don't really evolve.
You can tell them until you're blue in the face, but in the end just don't get it.
All they need to do is put a fine guitar in hand and give it a whirl. Not until then will they know what you're talking about.

Happy reading!

Welcome Mitch. The JP6 (Petrucci) is an amazing guitar. I've had mine for a few years now and I still love it above all others.

First, the amazing tremolo and locking tuner combination really gets the job done. I played Floyds for years and this system holds tune as well or better, plus you can still tune by grabbing a tuning peg! No limited-throw fine tuners!

Also, the body contours on the JP guitar are very comfortable for me, and the piezo is a must-have option. It sounds amazing routed through a PA system.

I'm already shopping. That Pearl Red looks amazing to me. I'm thinking a Pearl Red w/ piezo and dot inlays is right up my alley.

This little pic is killing me (just needs one more switch):

If these things are as comfortable to play and good sounding as you guys say, I think I'm going to be in love...
