So, a friend of mine needed a bass, so we hooked him up with a SUB 5 string from the bass side of things. He's pretty much a beginner, so this is perfect for him.

I've converted 3 people in 3 months into buying balls. Granted, they were all used, but at least they are buying EB from the beginning stages of their musical endeavors. That should lead to new guitars right?

The bass player in my band is seriously thinking about a Sting Ray V.
Of course, I was the one that recommended it to him. Currently he is playing Fender Jazz bass Special and it sounds really good, but I bet MM bass would sound even better.

Good move! And I'll never understand why anyone plays an SG. It's possibly the most uncomfortable, difficult guitar I've ever played. There's no redeeming qualities to it IMO.

I hate SG's. One of my students just bought an SG. It sounds terrible and play like a piece of lumber. He listens to the Strokes 24/7 so there was no hope of steer him away from a Gibson.

I might have converted an entire Guitar Center crowd. I brought in my Mystic Dream JP to try out some amps and I had at least 15 people say "Wait a second, did your guitar just change colors?"
The clerk at the register almost dropped his jaw off when I walked up with my Ernie Ball guitar and told him I wanted a full set of Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes, an Ernie Ball strap, a box of Ernie Ball Slinkies, and asked him if he had any Ernie Ball shirts.
That was a good day!

I suspect that I've converted a few non-believers over the years.

Most of my 'converts' have been to Bongos, but my partner in crime in my band, Brian, is such a traditionalist, and I respect that about him.

But now he really wants a Sterling.

My bass player wants a Bongo 6 when they come out. I think it is mostly due to my constant ranting about EBMM. Also, my brother in law is a died in the wool Strat player. I've tried to get him to consider an AL, but I've never seen one in person. It doesn't seem to be a guitar that any of the shops around me chooses to stock.
