Here's the latest addition to the family. She's a natural/rosewood '97 SR4H that I have a sneaking suspicion will become my number one player... I've definitely grown to love the Stingray's neck. It just feels right.

I brought her home two days ago, and yesterday, stripped her down, cleaned oiled and waxed the neck, did a complete set-up, changed the strings and then polished all the shiny bits. I'll get to rock out on her tonight at rehearsal... I can't wait!

The family now consists of a '97 SR4H natural/rosewood, an '02 SR4H black/rosewood, and last, but not least, an '05 Sterling 4H blue/maple.

Thanks.

I've always had a weak spot for natural basses, and this one definitely has some mojo going on... it just has something about it... not quite sure what it is. But I like it.

Naturals with black pickguards are a beautiful thing. Congrats on an amazing bass and I also prefer the single humbucker basses. It just seems right.

Congrats....love natural basses with black pickguards. I've been waiting for a black pg for my Sterling 4 HS for about a month and a 1/2 now...they were on back order.

I had no idea that there were matte pickguards available, so I was pretty surprised when I saw this one. It looks great with the light natural contrast. And the bass sounds fantastic too!!! Extra bonus. I'm still tweaking it here and there, but I think once I lower the pickups a tad it'll be perfect.

I agree!

Yeah, there's something about that single humbucker that's just perfect for what I want to hear. I love the simplicity of the whole thing too, just volume and tone, end of story.

I really wish that I'd discovered Musicman basses 25 years ago. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble... not to mention $$. Oh well, live and learn.
