Here are pics from the Andy Timmons clinic I attended last month at Rudy's Music Stop in NYC. The man is a true artist and a gentleman. Maybe the most musical rock guitarist there is (IMO).

He is of course a monster player but I came away from the clinic thinking "You don't have to play 32nd notes all day to make great instrumental music".

He is no longer endorsing Ibanez BTW. ;)

Andy is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Looks like I totally missed it. Didn't even know about it. :(

Cud where is there mmstuff here? Im sure Andy is a great guy and I know he is a reat player but this bandwidth is for our stuff.

Sorry BP. I've seen other OT topics without EBMM content so I thought it'd be OK. I can delete the post if you want.

I went to his clinic out in MN back in April. Aside from being a flat out amazing player, he's got to be the one of the kindest and most gracious people I've ever met. He had a slightly different effects setup when i saw him....he didn't bring the BB preamp and had a loopbone and a Boss Octave pedal with him. He mentioned that the BB and his Tubescreamer are basically interchangeable depending on how he's feeling that day. That guy has to have some of the best tone in music.

BP- I think what Cud was trying to say with this post was something like, "send that man a silhouette special...he's a free agent now!":D

Andy is an amazing player, I wish I could go to one of his clinics. That Mesa Boogie room is pure gear porn haha.

Awesome, Andy is all class. No word at the clinic which brand he's going to next?

When I saw him in April, he said he was enjoying the freedom to play what he wants, whenever he wants and spedified that he was't actively looking for a new deal. Unless someone offers him something that he can stand behind 110%, I don't think he would take a new deal either. He told us at the clinic I was at that for his last year or so with Laney, an Timmons signature amp was in the works and fairly close to completion....but he ended up trying the Lonestar and turned down the deal with laney (i.e. a nice chunk advertisement/exposure/income) to go back to Boogie, where he pays for what he plays.

Well that was the intention when I wrote:

He only said that he felt the need to be able to play whatever he felt like on a given day. He didn't feel he was doing Ibby justice by having an official endorsement and not playing their stuff all the time.

I could definitely see him playing a Silo. That guitar was made for him.

+1

He basically repeated this to us in NY.

Nice pics Cud! I found out about this like a few days after the clinic. That really sucks that I missed it because he has become one of my favorite musicians. And yes, I can vividly imagine a Silo Special in his hands as well. Would love to try mine through a Lone Star. I have never seen so many Boogies a Rudys before. I gotta stop by!

I think they should put a Silo in Andy's hands i think he would be hooked...One feel of an EBMM neck and we got another endorsee...J/K i know he don't want to endorse anyone. To bad though:(.

Love the red croc Mesa BTW

That's too bad. Then again...he seems more than happy with where he's at and I'm sure you guys aren't losing any sleep over it either:)

I saw him the next day when he was in MA. Killer clinic. Awesome tone. I left both inspired and frustrated, LOL.
