I'm a guy who mostly plays sitting down. Is the Al comfortable to play that way? (please don't laugh!) And there are no dealers in my area who have one to try out, so your comments will be very helpful!

OT: What is going on with GC and EBMM, anyway? They've been clearancing stuff out and have no stock of anything except OLPs, any insights?

Al is very comfy. Contoured to perfection.

GC might be in the middle of a business model rethink. Concentrating on low end guitars mostly. A lot of PRS's were also gone from the wall the last time I was in.

Funny, the one I was at was loaded with PRSes! No EBMMs in site though.

The AL is one of the best balanced guitars I've ever played, sitting or standing... very comfortable...

Good news, good news! Anyone seen one in Tobacco Burst? I love that color but can't find a pic anywhere of that particular color. In fact, are most of the bursts now being offered new this year (black cherry, pacific blue, etc...)? I like bursts and I'm leaning towards getting one, but I'd like to see some pics of the new colors first (on the Als). Any help there?

Norrin, I started playing EBMM's specifically because they were so comfortable to play while sitting in a chair in my home studio.

Thanks! But I believe that one is a Vintage Sunburst. I am hoping the Tobacco has less black around the edges, and it should not have any red in it. But I appreciate the help! :)

my mistake... sorry

In the most recent issue of GP (Keef on cover), there's a MM giveaway of a TB Albert Lee MM90, and the picture is of TBurst

Really? I have that issue - I will check it out, Thanks!

Edit: I checked it out. It's on page 120. I believe, however, that that one is also a vintage sunburst. Dang! But we're getting close!! Thanks everyone! :) :)

Yeah - I bought an Axis and a Pet for the same reason! They are terriffic. I was just concerned becasue fo the unconventional shape of the Al if it would aslo be comfy. I have a Jeff Beck strat that I borrowed from a buddy, and it sounds great, but man, that neck is so big! I want a good SSS guitar, and it suddenly occured to me: "You love your Axis to death (especially the neck!), why are you considering a strat when you could be looking at an AL?" I don't know why I hadn't though of it before.

The 1st post on the "pics of our guitars thread" is my old AL in black cherry burst, which is gorgeous.

In regards to the AL's comfort factor, it's very comfy either way.

Remember - it's retro pointy, not metal pointy!
