You know, you should just plop all your Bongo questions into one big, honkin' thread.

The dual humbucker model Bongo will:

- shave your cat while you're asleep.

- if left to its own devices, destroy large Japanese cities and fight giant, flying, fire-breathing turtles.

- insult retired people.

The single coil/humbucker model will:

- style your girlfriend's hair.

- talk large Japanese cities into destroying themselves.

- convince annoying retired people to move to Idaho.

I apologize. I was under the apprehension that you were posting a lot of questions regarding the Bongo. It turns out you only posted two. My bad.

The questions I asked really weren't b.s. questions. I played the Lakland for a couple of weeks on my practice amp and didn't notice that much difference until I did a side by side comparison with my 'Ray on my stage rig. I was just hoping that someone that had the oppotunity to compare the Bongo's side by side on the same amp in an environment that they were familiar with would be able to shed some light on the differences between the different models.

I've seen many more irrelevant threads posted on this forum in the past and I don't understand why both responses I received were those from people that seemed to be put out over answering my questions. I admit that I've posted some witty (aka smart ass) responses, but not usually to someone asking a question relevant to this forum.

I'm not p.o.ed about it, I just don't understand why I didn't receive a response that had some merit.

Well, Lord Bongo did give a creative response in regards to the comparison between HS and HH Bongos. In the past, he's said the HS sounds more refined and has a passable Jazz bass tone. I think it was somewhere on his website, but with the confusing redesign and all, I bet its buried somewhere in the vaults of bovinehost.com.

I think we need a big thread for stupid people who ask stupid things like: What color should my new stingray/sterling/bongo be.. What strings should I get? What should I eat today? How do I tell my mom I'm gay... What should I name my new bass? People People People... please use the search function. I know some of you have no life but maybe you could spend more of your free time playing the bass instead of jerking off over some retarded question.

and I don't think Bovine was trying to be mean...it was all in good fun some people are just too touchy.

Oh yeah... I wasn't calling this thread stupid because it is much much better then some of the other posts I've seen lately but I understand all sides. I have a Bongo 5 HH with piezo and a Bongo 4 HH w/o piezo. I think the piezo is cool and it adds a little something to the sound (just another sound you can get from the amazing Bongo) but as far as spending 300 bucks for it.. I don't Know. I got it on my first bongo because I wanted it loaded but I doubt I'll get it on anything else unless I get a fretless bongo. I have played a Bongo HS and it is like bovine said... more tame. Both are great...but if I had one choice it would be the HH.

Could it be, this forum is the only fellowship or outlet some people have for communicating with others?
Could it be, some that want to think they have the answer to everthing as the answer to nothing?
Could it be, this is a forum where some just want to have a little fun along with the serious side of things.
I fall into the third catagory of this could it be's.
I will agree some posts are rather ....! but that reverts back to my first could it be.
Could it be, some get tired of my philsophy? So!
Let's continue to enjoy this forum, ask a silly or non silly question some time, make "cute" remark sometime and be serious some time.
I have called Jon on the phone a couple of times in order to get what I would hope to be a straight answer without reading thru a bunch of "Could it Be's."
I personally have read alot of offense posts but I didn't get aggitated or ......
Life is life and people are people and we all live in this small world.
If I find some offenses or what I would call down right silly, I just go to another post or pull the plug.
Could it be???

I did let it get to me a little that a question that I was expecting a thoughtful response to received "cute" answers. Let's just let this one die and I will try to do my own research on this matter. :)

Mobay, definitely not in my soul to gaff anyone off here. I was just having fun. Seriously, the question has been asked a lot around here, and you probably COULD find the responses using the search feature, but if you don't or you can't figure it out, I'd be glad to go make some coffee and tell you what I think, for whatever that's worth!

Sorry if you thought I was being flippant - I hadn't seen the prior response as my browser had been open for a long time as I went to pick the offspring up from pre-school.

As you can see from my birthdate on the calendar, I'm real susceptible to "CRS" disease. Anyway, opinions change over time and Bongo owners seem to be more prominent now than they were when a lot of those questions were answered. I wanted to give as many Bongoers (maybe Bongoists?) as possiblethe opportunity to give their opinions.

I think I prefer "Bongoist". It reminds me of the word nudist. :D

Sometimes it's more fun to create a new discussion than to read an old one. That's what keeps things fresh and interesting.

What kind of reply is this. Isnt this a MusicMan bass forum? Thats what you do here. Ask questions that you want answers to. If you dont like ones question, its simple, dont reply. I take great pride in knowing that someone may be informed, encouraged or benefit from a reply that I may give them. Lets help each other out and bash a little less. Were not lead guitarists here.
