I had my dealer order me up a Petrucci in Desert gold, matching head, w/piezo's today! Was told I should expect it sometime in October.

I don't know if this happens to any of you guys, but it seems the older I get, the harder it is for me to part with a big, fat wad of cash.

Back in my younger days I wouldn't have thought twice about shelling out some serious dough for a guitar, head, cabinet, etc... but when my salesman gave me my total today, I stared at him (like an idiot) for a few seconds until I pulled out the money and counted it out for him. I actually felt myself sweat a little bit!

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the new axe will be worth every cent, but...man...I really like the (temporary) feeling of that money bulging out of my wallet on the way to the music store. :D

Goodbye big, fat, green, beautiful, wad of money. (sniff). I'll miss you! ;)

Dugger,

I've actually experienced the opposite effect. Until recently, I could never bring myself to buy a guitar over $500. Now that I've been playing for 20+ years, I decided that I deserve better equipment!

Speaking of parting with wads of cash, I just had 4 big trees removed from my property. My wallet is considerably lighter.

i kinda know what you're saying ... when a guitar costs ya a months rent + car payment you kinda take an second and go "hmmm". but then you take the axe home (or get the call that its arrived) and you smile cuz you just got yourself a pimp new ebmm :)

I have to agree, although l'm only 27, the thought of what if i need the money for something important, a couple of years ago l wouldn't of cared, but l guess now l have my band and l might need to spend the money on recording/filming etc etc.

Scott.
