I'm assuming that with the 15" radius, the fretboard's nice and flat...

can you get killer low action with no buzzing on it throughout the whole neck?

also, are the pups fully adjustable? I know the axis is mounted to the body so you can't adjust the height..but you can probably adjust the height with the petrucci, right?

Jongitarz set up mine when he fixed the neck on my broke one down to 1/32" with absolutely no buzzing that I could find!

You can set the action ridiculously low on the JP.. as Raz likes to do!

You cannot adjust the pickups though.. they're mounted directly to the body. But I really don't think there's any need to move them anyway.. you have to listen to them before deciding that they are too low!

If you get the pups too close to the strings, you can mess up your intonation and also lose sustain.

yeah, that's true...while I don't like them right on top of the strings, you can't have them too far away either....

my lynch is at a perfect hight for the JB..then again, every pup has its own sweet spot...

I've got mine set to 1/32" (maybe a c... hair less)...and this is on the Low B string :D
Now as far as the pups go I must confess that I had to shim the neck to increase the neck angle, so as to increase the gap between the pups and strings. I find them amazingly clean and clear now...you can also lower the individual pole pieces, as I have also done. We have to remember that this is how JP likes it, and the more I listen to his playing the more I realize the reasons why he wants his pups this way. I might try and reset the neck angle to it's original position, give the pups another try that way.
