If I understand it correctly, the switch goes on-off-blend!? right?

Technically it's On-Blend-Off if you keep pushing the switch down. As far as how you run it, I use a 20' horizon insert cable. Run the blue into the direct box to the house for the acoustic and run the red side into the amp.

This might be a stupid question, but I don't know the fine details of how it works or is made.
Do the piezos sound the same from one guitar model to another? i.e. piezo on a Luke to a piezo on a Silo or piezo on an Axis......
Are there slight variations to sound/tone because of body shape, woods, etc...
Or do none of these things actually matter because the peizo just works differently????

Piezos work simply by reacting to vibrations off that single string. It's a tension thing rather than cutting magnetic fields. The strings add pressure to the saddles, and the pickups react according to tension and vibration frequency as well as amplitude. By this, it means that the vibration dynamics would matter and result in different tones out of that pickup. Which means, the wood, construction, scale length are indeed factors.

The Piezo electric saddles are actually compressable to a certain extent. When they are compressed, a voltage is produced, and like electromagnetic pickups, produces a tone thru a speaker.

But how much this would differ from guitar to guitar compared to electronic pickups, I don't really know. I do know that the piezo on my JP6 sounds more open and bigger than the one on my 20th, which is the correct characteristic of basswood.

and also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_pickup

The switches, more accurately, are like this: Piezo - Blend - Magnetic

Hope this helps...:D
