Hey everyone, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is warm, safe, and happy.

What do you guys think? Any chance the Cutlass/Caprice line comes back? I've got a (2013?) SLO special 2band Stingray that I love and has me covered for that signature EBMM sound. Playability is unreal...I believe EBMM rivals any bass out there irrespective of cost in terms of quality and playability. Perfect 'production' instrument!

With that in mind, I loves me a good P bass :D I missed the boat on the original run, but would love that EBMM quality in a P format (heck, I'd say that if these ever came back you could sign me up for one of each!). I keep checking the vault for any one offs but I'm not the best 'drop hawk...' if one ever does appear it'll be on a day I forget to check ;)

Not terribly interested in signature instruments. Joe Dart is an amazing player and I'll never approach anything close to him. His sig basses look awesome, and personally I love the one big knob idea and aesthetic! I've just never really wanted anything music related with somebody else's name/specs attached...well, aside from the obvious name on the headstock! :D

I called some weeks ago and spoke with Shelly on the phone (who could not have been more courteous and helpful...seriously, I got *such* a kind vibe even from a brief talk) who suggested sending an email with my request, which I did.

I just find myself checking reverb so many times a day, especially now round the holidays that I have a day or two off. I remembered I had an account here as well so I thought I'd pose the question for those in the know!

If there's no way these can ever really come back, perhaps I'd try a Stingray HH and see if the neck pickup gets me 'there' but in truth I'd rather have that tetris piece pickup in a super quality EBMM package!

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays again!

If you cant snag your holy grail, the neck PU of an HH doesnt hit me as "close enough". Im suggesting playing the neck PU of an HS. HS are long discontinued and so harder to find than HH, but theyre not exactly rare. You might even find its a better P-PU than a classic Fender staggered P, judged by YOUR ears of course !

Have you ever played a Cutlass/Caprice ? If not, how do you know its really the "EBMM P-Bass" that youve been dreaming of ? Get you an HS and most likely youll be ass over tea kettle in looooove, such that if a Caprice walks by, youll just shrug. Dont ask me whether it should be SR or Sterling ... cuz I "swing both ways" at that party ;-)

Solid advice, definitely looking for one :)

Would be nice to have 'em and compare and keep whichever I like a bit better. Or keep em both :D

Missed out on that Cutlass on reverb today by a hair. Had it in the cart and by the time I put in credit card deets it was gone.

Can EBMM please just make 1 of these to assuage my crushed dreams?!

I have a Caprice and I wish they made it and the Cutlass again. When these first came I was skeptical but then tried one at the local guitar center and fell in love. I'd really like to see a 5 string Caprice or Cutlass but I'm not holding my breath either model will ever make a comeback. Maybe they will do a reissue someday. Do the Joe Dart models sound like the Caprice/Cutlass?

Maybe if enough of us commit to buying one it’ll sway the powers that be to have a limited little run of em?

Put me down for one of each right now! But if I had to choose 1, cutlass

Anyone else of the same mindset please post below! :)

I have a diamond blue/maple Cutlass (my second one - before that I had the white/maple) Reviewers comparing the Caprice to the Cutlass said there were subtle differences in the split P on both was selected. The nearest I've got is my Classic Sabre in the P setting/single coil mode which to my ears is fairly close but ymmv.
