I'm really close to pulling the trigger on one of these but I'm curious as to if it's routed for a humbucker under the pickguard? I have a strat already with singles and think I may grow tired of two guitars with all singles

And the Axis is my main guitar and I was wondering how the neck on the cutlass is in comparison?

Thanks

MusicMan version is routed SSS as well... But you can route it anyway you want since the pickguard will cover it up. As far as the neck goes it's very comfy for an Axis player. Soft V to a comfy C is very accurate. The finish isn't noticeable. I'd say that the neck profile feels a little thinner overall but the large stainless frets will take a little getting used to. I noticed it for a few minutes when I first picked up the cutlass... Once I started finding my way around the neck I didn't notice the frets.

Stratty, couldn´t play one so far. Maybe later this week at the MusikMesse Frankfurt.
Does the V feel like the V on a Luke? I find the Luke-neck feels very thin because of the V
Or does it have more "meat"? (I tried Strats with a "soft-V" that didn´t feel "thin")

I just bought one this weekend. I never by new guitars but this weekend I was at CME in Chicago and played a tone of guitars, they had ONE Cutlass and I fell in love with it when I plugged it in. IMHO (and this is my only MM guitar) this is the best S Style Guitar for me. I played all kinds this weekend Nash, Fender, G&L, Suhr, ext and this is just the most comfortable guitar to play. All positions sound fantastic while it would be nice to have a Humbucker in the Bridge the single sounds great.

The neck shape is nice and full feeling, the neck is not thin nor is it narrow to my feel. It is no Boatneck but very very nice.

Congrats and welcome to the community! You know you could always replace the bridge pup with a HB if you want... :).

Oh, and by the way, I think it would be prudent for you to post a NGD with pictures. We have a rule, pics or the guitar doesn't exist ;).

Pics or it didn't happen! Gotcha, i'll get some up tonight. It would be hard to choose a good HB for the bridge, because the #2 pickup position sound so good. It was also my first trip back to EB Strings and that was very welcoming surprise. NGD Thread tonight.

Agreed it would be tough to lose that excellent sounding 2 position. I also really LIKE the bridge position on this guitar. I have dabbled with countless pickups in my EBMM guitars over the years. You know what happens? They always end up with the original factory pickups back in. Every time. I think EBMM does a spectacular job matching pickups to guitars at the creation stage.
