Texas Finally!
Welcome fellow Texan, not sure about Austin area but quite a few Texans, including many in the DFW area, but plenty of EBMM fanatics all over the world:)

Hey guys, I'm a fellow Texan. I grew up in Deer Park a suburb of Houston. I also used to work in Austin(semiconductors). Now I've been transplanted to the great NW. I don't miss the heat in the summer except for Schliterbahn(sp?). If I was back there, I'd love to get together, but I guess I'll have to find someone in Portland who plays EBMM.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

MN246 - Yes the Schlitterbahn is a good refuge from the brutal TX heat. My favs are Barton Springs Pool and Hamilton Pool in Austin.

Sub1 - Are you in OKC? Have you been to Oklahoma Vintage Guitar and Best Price Guitar.com? I was in OKC last week on business, but didn't have time to go. I was wanting to check out their EBMM inventory.

I like pink guitars. That pink guitar was a Phil Collen (Def Leppard) Jackson PC1. I sold it because the neck was too large and flat, uncomfortable for my hands where as the Axis neck is perfect, but those guitars are made for one purpose and one purpose only: shredding! Also, they have a sustainer for hours of non-stop dive bombs!

Several years ago, I bought a pink EBMM EVH on ebay and a collector had to have it to complete his collection so he traded me an amber EVH quilt AND an amber Wolfgang quilt (first year Wolf). So don't knock the power of the pink!!!

Ned911, what's CnC's? Where is it. What's the name of your band? I'll try and make it out your show.

Welcome to the forum. I spent some time in Austin a couple years ago. Used to work for the Lake Travis School District ...
But now I'm back at home at EB :)
I'll be venturing to Austin in July .. gonna pop by the NAMM show.

Hello there and welcome. Fellow Austinite here too. I'm a lowly 4stringer though.

ned911, I think I caught you guys one time at Sherlocks not too long ago. I was there for a company happy hour that didn't end until well after midnight. Anyway, good times.

We should all plan a get together and grab a beer downtown, on 6th St.

By the way, any of you guys know of a good tech in town that can work on Floyds? I mean really knows how to set up a Floyd on an Axis, and knows how to work on EBMM's? Is there such a person in Austin...the Live Music Capital of the World...more bands here than LA or NYC...

I used to live in Edmond, just north of OKC, but I transferred and moved back to Tulsa. I like it better here, less traffic :)

You are lucky to have a world-class (and I mean it) repairman/luthier right there in Austin: Mark Erlewine: Erlewine Guitars

Outstanding work, if he can't fix it, it can't be fixed! :)

Honestly though man, Floyd's and EB's are very easy to work on. No one works on my guitars but me until they are so messed up due to wear that I need major fretwork or something, then I just send it back to EB.

If you want to GTG and go over'em, I'll show you how to do it all yourself, it's really simple. Just takes patience and a decent tuner for most setup issues (a fine increment ruler if you like super low action helps a lot).

Shoot me a PM, let me know. :D

PS: I want to go to NAMM this year again! Someone get me a freakin' badge!

I use Mark but I send my EBMM's back to EB for work.

I've got a NAMM pass as well - let's setup a NAMM meet. If Saturday not to late I've got a gig at the Light Bar on 4th and Congress that night.

Of course I like Antones, Cedar Street, La Zona Rosa, and Stubb's Bar-B-Q. I used to love to go see Monte Montegomery at the Pier on Lake Austin, but I understand that's closed now.

I was just checking Eric Johnson's web site for some shows, but he doesn't have any dates list.

Storyville's playing Blues on the Green in a few weeks, but I'll be out of town.

Monte Montgomery's playing in Marble Falls on the 4th-of-July.

I was trying to find a show when we could all GTG.
