I like the stock pickups, but I keep hearing about upgrades like the tonezone air norton conbo and such, but some say the tonezone is muddy, Ive never tried it. Any good suggestions?

The best part about upgrading the pickups is that it made the guitar sound more refined and articulate

My ax40 is an older one I got used, trans gold, I definitely want to upgrade the pickups just cause I want the guitar to be as good as it can be, but would I be better off with any other dimarzios besides the tonezone, cuz dimarzio suggests the tonezone norton combo for the upgrade. Im def going with dimarzio, but what about any other pups like the AT1 for bridge, some have even said that the original Norton as a bridge, Ill prob go with air norton for the neck, but any other good dimarzio bridge suggestions?

AT1 and Air Norton - it´s as close as you´ll get without buying original MM/Dimarzios.
