Actually, I have a 25th Anniversary guitar and am considering modding it to Axis SS wiring. However, it would have independent volume controls and a phase switch. Another consideration is going to a 3-way switch with independent volume controls with push/pulls for series/parallel. But then I would miss out on position 4! Different strokes, I guess...

What about using it as a coil split for the neck or bridge?

I set my 25th up with the Axis Super Sport wiring as well. Then wired the toggle to split the bridge or neck in positions 1 and 5 only.

+1 for the neck coil split. Should sound pretty nice and ballsy. Heck, think I'm gonna try this as well...
I have done this for all of my Super Sports. It is what comes standard on must Suhr HH guitars with 5-way switches. Sounds great, even better if you switch the neck pickup out for something with very low output, such as a PAF-style pickup.

Was noodling around the other day with position 4. Tbh, I liked it a lot. Should better install a push pot to disconnect the bridge coil on position 2, i.o. to have the "neck-est" coil als single coil...
