The last PDNs were Mahogany... cool, very warm wood... now how about a body wood of maple for that aggressive bite? Ever done before? Just wondering.... not suggesting :cool:

Musicman Nut's Sterling has a quilted maple body. Wish the picture was still up in the BFR thread it is quite enjoyable to look at. JOSH

There were some maple-topped LEs, don't recall which one
but it can't be too rare, as I saw it at a small GC.

As to maple being heavy, I have a solid maple Spector 5
and it kinda big, a lotta body beyond the bridge, 35" neck,
but it's about average weight for any 5-string. I have a
solid maple Guild Pilot that IS heavier than my solid poplar
version of the same, but the poplar is pleasantly very light
whilst the maple one is about average for a 4-string.
