Any one an LA local??

im attending M.I.T in October for 18 months. im very excited. as anyone been to it before, or taken a course there? and does anyone know what the area is like around it? i went to NAMM in 06, and im not really sure what part of LA its in, or if it is near where i was staying. if you guys know anything about it, that would help alot, or if anyone knows of a job openeing in any guitar shops that would be cool to. i have 3 years of teaching under my belt, and counter experince as well. id love to make an easy transition. i dont think delivering pizzas would go down towell for me. haha.

What is M.I.T.? I assume you don't mean Massachussettes Institute of Technology. If so, you may need to re-check your map.

Hey Lefty,

If its the same one I've been to in Hollywood, you're in luck! It is located in downtown Hollywood, steps away from ANYTHING you can think of! Like, literally, Hollywood Blvd with all the stars on it is right around the corner. It's definitely not a bad, "ghetto" part of town, but maybe a little bit gritty. Definitely a neighborhood with character! I feel safe walking around that neighborhood, no prob.

I took a summer session course about 25 years ago. And saw Steve Morse give a clinic there about 4 years ago.

It's a funky area. Hollywood isn't for everyone, but it definitely has character. There's a few music stores nearby along with everything else you can think of. You might be able to WALK to everything you need.
