Hey guys,

I'm flying down to sydney to play in the Australian Final for battle of the bands this friday. But my cab is to heavy to bring on the plane i.e. 40.5kg.

Does anyone know of a good and cheap backline hire place in sydney, preferably near Glebe or Camberdown. just to hire a 4 by 10 cabinet. I'm brining my head and basses obviously. And how much do you reckon it will be?

Thanks in advance

Rhys,

I don't live in Sydney, but grew up there. Your best best in that part of town is The Bass Player at Annandale. I've no idea of prices, but they stock gear to suit all price ranges, and I'm sure they would hire you a quad if you phone them and ask nicely.

Another thought - are you sure the organisers of the event haven't arranged for all backline to be supplied? For a big show like that, with interstate bands flying in, I'd be surprised if they don't already have that covered.

The band is Transic, and this is only our seventh original gig, so no we dont have a website yet.

Yeah i rang the organiser and she said that they weren't hiring backline, but there have been a few enquiries about it so they might be. But i want some options up my sleave, dont want to get there ampless

Hi I'm new on these forums, but i live in Sydney.

Theres a place called Billy Hydes (theres two in sydney) dont ask for the one called Drumcraft, thats a drummer store.

The other Billy Hyde rents out tonnes of equipment there.. quite good.

www.billyhydes.com.au

.. my guitarist rented a marshall rig from them,.

Best of luck in the comp, is it open?? .. i'd come down to support!
