Love my EBMM Axis sport but I find myself hankering for a Vigier Exalibur (maybe even the Shawn Lane Model) so I was wondering if anybody has played both and can compare/contrast the guitars. If the quality is similar I may just get the Axis radius flattened out when I get a refret which should be coming up soon.

Thanks

whoa baby Patrice Vigier is a really great guy who is very passionate about the guitar. He has posted on this forum (patrice) and is also the Music Man distributor for France. The world is full of Vanilla and I really appreciate that Patrice is always pushing forward.

Aside from the high price, I have only heard good things about Vigier. I would like to get my hands on one to try it someday, just for kicks - kind of the same reason I played one note on a Stradivarius when my luthier friend was working on it - just for kicks, and to say I did it.

Raz, are you thinking of buying again!?

No, no just spewing forth nonsense...

BTW nothing personal against Vigier guitars, as soon as I saw Ron Thal(Bumblefoot) playing one, I became an instant fan, just like Mattias and Caparison guitars, it's just way out of the average man's price range.

I've had a Vigier Marilyn. Very nice guitar, you gotta like the looks of it.
Btw, the Vigier Floyd Rose uses ball or needle bearings, no pivots. NICE!!

Thanks for the input guys. I am really torn because there is no where in Canada to try a Vigier and I am really happy with the guitars that I have...GAS is getting the best of me for a Vigier or Suhr. I just can't imagine that either can be that much better than what I got....especially the neck of the EBMM.

I think I wil start by getting a compound radius put onto my EBMM when I get a refret and see how it goes from there.

you just really can't compare the vigier to anything else on the planet. I've played lots of excaliburs (most recently the shawn lane - which was fantastic) and still always buy another MM axis SS hardtail. I do own a passion bass from the 80's that I just don't know what I'd do without, but I've found that people either completly "get" vigiers or they just have the good sense to say, "dear god that's an expensive guitar/bass!"

either way they're REALLY good instruments.

(but I guarentee my next guitar is going to be yet another axis SS...)

MM and Vigier share the same passion for instruments, quality and innovation. You can not be wrong to choose one or the other, you will get to perfection to choose booth ;=)
I'm proud to make the Vigier guitars but also proud to be part of the Music Man team by distributing them in France.

Vigier's are super nice guitars. My local shop guy has one. Very impressive. I did not like the neck feel, but, that guitar was not made for me..... ;)

Had heard the name but not actually paid attention until now. Love my EBMMs but I had a nose round the website and they're very nice loooking guitars. If one comes into my local emporium, I'll be sure to try it. I buy guitars for the necks which is what brought me to EBMM, and what also turned me off the Andersons.

Welcome, I checked out your product and website. Very nice.

BP, how very nice of you to welcome your fellow builder to your site. But after meeting you I wouldn't have expected anything else.

Patrice, I hear a rumour that your guitars are coming to Australia soon thru CMC?
