Hey Fat,

It doesn't sound stupid at all!!

That's the way most of us (at one time or another) did that. You have a great guitar, so I can understand your concern now.

If I'm able to make it down to that area soon I'll give you a shot. I'd be more than happy to do that for you!!

The only thing is, not sure if LA is a stop for me in the next few weeks.

I know there's other "guys" here that are already down there.:)

It's really not hard to set it up yourself! You want lower action? Turn the truss rod one hole to the right (looking down the neck). You want higher action? Turn the truss rod one hole to the left (again looking down the neck). just remember righty-tighty, lefty-loosy. Tighter makes the neck straighter and decreases string relief - Looser lets the neck bow just a bit and increases string relief. Sometimes you'll need to move the bridge up/down, but try not to mess with the saddles. They are set to match the radius of the neck. This is a worst case scenario type of adjustment only.

You'll be surprised what a tweak of the truss rod can do! Hit me up if you need detailed help...

BTW, it's good to see some JP and BB forum members posting here too!

If you want a good pro set-up, you could head over to long Beach and talk to Greg at World of Strings. He's really good.

In this case, "looking down the neck" means from body to the headstock.
