... I had to come back to america for a friend's extremly unexpected whirlwind wedding to what is possibly the strangest girl I've ever met (including my wife) and while killing time my last day before heading back to japan I happened upon a BARELY used trans orange MM Axis SS hardtail on consignment at a guitar shop in the area for $800. well... it was a given that I simply must take it back with me. (even still had the plastic on the control cavity cover and the silica jelpack in the case)

there simply is no better guitar for me than the axis ss hardtail. the problem: I already have 3 of them. (2 are even the exact same color). I keep saying, "you know... next time I'll get a albert lee... or hey... can't wait to see what happens with that neck-thru petrucci..." and I ALWAYS go right back to an axis SS hardtail. anybody else keep re-buying the same MM because you're in love with it?

the up-side to this is that my wife can't tell when I've bought a new one because she can't tell them appart....

I know just where you are coming from!!!

I have an EVH, an ASS and a regular Axis (all hardtails) and another Axis on its way from the USA.

And the thing is.... I WANT MORE DAMMIT!!!!!!!

The Axis is the guitar for me!

Congrats! Love it when that happens.

If you've got three the same, why not experiement with one of 'em? Throw some new pickups in or something! (You can't get aftermarket MM90s, but there are some good noisefree P90ish pickups out there ... that would be pretty cool.)

I kinda have the same problem - I've got seven Axes now, but at least they're all different colours. Truth be told, they're all quite different in options as well... lessee, there's a Sport hardtail, Sport trem, Sport MM90 trem, Sport S/S/H trem, Super Sport MM90 hardtail and Super Sport hardtail, all with a mix of rosewood and maple fingerboards, plus my Axis w/ Floyd... See, they're all very different really! :D

I've put a bill lawarence l-500 in the bridge position of one of them and a dimarzio evolution in another. but I have to admit I REALLY like those stock dimarzios the axis guitars come with.
