Guys,

Just got off the phone with Nick at Beller's Music. Squared away my Dargie Delight II order.

Has anyone else taken the plunge yet?

Later today. I still have to decide who I'm ordering from.

I think Pete will understand if you want to honor your commitment to GC, but I'm sure he'd appreciate it if you helped out the "little guy."

Have you ever gone one year without buying a guitar?

I have. I really just started going nuts this year. It started with my Amethyst BFR. This one will have to be the last for this year. The price is a little much for me to get a 7 string also.

not yet. What did you order??

BFR JP6 :D

Yeah, it's funny because price isn't the issue here. I'd prefer to go through Pete.

I spent 7 years working at E.U. Wurlitzer which was New England's biggest chain until they made really bad decisions and went bankrupt in an attempt to go head to head with GC when GC came to Boston in the late 1990's. I think that part of working at GC is that they have to understand that as commissioned salesman that you are going to lose some sales regardless of prior dealings with a customer.

The issue is my wife. If you recall the Walnut BFR that was canceled to free up the funds for the Dargie was a gift from her, and she feels very strongly that I honor the GC commitment. All the stuff I sold to buy a Dargie when I didn't think they were going to be available as BFR's went to buying the rosewood neck JP6 from Pete. I respect that she feels that way, but I'm still a little pissed at GC for not mentioning that the lefty BFR's didn't come with the BFR cases. And I always disliked GC, though my past two experiences have been very good.

I spoke to Pete and we understand where each other is coming from. He and Nick are really good guys and I would prefer they get my money, but technically it is my wife's money and I don't want to completely disregard her feelings on the issue.

I spoke to Nick yesterday and we spent a few minutes coming up with excuses to tell GC, he came up with some good ones such as, "it turns out my wife is having twins so I can't spend anymore money". I asked him if they were twins if he would take one of them in trade for a Dargie.

I don't know if I can justify scrounging up this kind of dough for a DD2.

I'm a bit bummed because I have a MD JP, and I really like to diversity my arsenal. Don't want another greenish color.

Guess DD2 won't be for me. SIgh

If you mean Nick the brother of Pete then yes I did try to reach pete and they said he won't be around till monday! Ahh how can he not be there for 24 hrs straight after such an important announcment? I tried to turn on a spot light with the EB logo for him to know he is needed but it's day time and you can't see it :D

I e-mailed Pete yesterday after Dargin made the announcement and let him know I had the deposit ready to go. He e-mailed me back last night and told me to call Nick at the Beller's shop to square away the money side of the deal.

He also said he's got the weekend off. Technically the order window doesn't start until Monday anyway.

bk, I wouldnt have a clue what to do with the Silo double neck LOL, have messed around with the one at my GC just intimidating man, scares the hell out of me:D

Havent totlly comitted to an AL or actually getting one weighing all options at the moment, most likely will hit Pete up for more pricing and if I do get one it will be order close to the close of the window, right now have way to many guitars with more incoming, some are going to have to go.:)

You do have quite the collection! So which would be the first to get cut if you decided to give the DD2 a go?

i'm thinking hard about this one. I would really love a JP with an ebony fretboard, but I have a house I'm trying to save for. Do I sell me rosewood neck for this? This may be just as rare. hmmmmm. I need help. (and not just because I'm lefty.)

Speaking of collections, man you have a killer one going on and already pulling the trigger on the DD2, sweet.

Well as much as I love the 20th it was bought as a safety in case I did not like the GR, but I loved the GR and its on order plus there is a formite who really wants a 20th so most likely will make someone happy with that, the one i am trying to keep is the BFR ASS I picked up from Pete, i can really get the same things from my 25th as i can fro the ASS bt theres something special about this ASS plus it has the best birdseye neck I have seen in a long time.

Sent Pete another email for pricing on alot of stuff so we will just wait and see what happens:D
