Is there anyone in the UK who would be interested in swapping their mint Axis or Axis Supersport with trem (not trans gold!) for an absolutely mint Luke 2 in blue pearl with trem and lots of birdseye in the neck? The guitar is also a bit unique as it was born on 9/11/01. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

No,no,no! Nothing at all. I've already got a trans gold EVH and I love it! It's just that I would prefer another colour if possible. God, I hope I haven't offended all those with trans gold guitars out there! Not my intention at all.

If it had the piezo and matching head stock I might have gone for it. Love my Axis, but I play the Luke 9 times out of 10 these days. Love that guitar soooo much (how can you get rid of one).

Luke II

I don't know if I should get rid of it or not. Essentially I really like the guitar, my only issue with it is the EMG '85 in the bridge. It's just not hot enough for my liking. I may put an '81 in it to see if it gets me there. Has anyone else done this and how did it sound?

Wow that's a nice guitar! The EMGs have a multi pin connector that you can easily remove to swap pickups without the need for any resoldering to try it out. The 81s sounded a little brighter and thinner than the 85s, which imo were more vintage sounding.
