Honestly, i thought he sounded better when he was using stingrays instead of jazz basses. Its kinda weird why he switched. Does anyone know why?

One of the reasons I read about was that RATM wanted to be very distinct from RHCP. I think this was also why he stopped slapping ala Take The Power Back (great SR "reference" piece BTW)

its just weird because when i think of RATM i think of bullet in the head, killing in the name, bombtrack, take the power back, fistful of steel. All of those songs have that great stingray tone which is very distinct from other rage songs and audioslave songs. im not saying that his newer basslines are bad their just different

Regardless...Tim's tone is always killer...but loved his Stingray tone with RATM.

I loved playing Killing in the name of back when I had my Stingray.

yea he always sounds good even on his jazzs. I love the tone out of his jazz on Tire Me
