I am thinking about switching, cause all of my other guitars have 10s. I am in love with how well it stays in tune right now though and don't want to screw it up. WHen you switched did you need to have the nut grooves cut to keep the tuning stable? If so I think I'd rather keep it with 9s the way nature intended!

I switched to 10's on my Luke a couple months ago...and it works better for me on that particular guitar. I always had a slight buzz issue on the low E when it had 9's on it and no matter what I did...I couldn't tweak it enough to get rid of it....so the 10's solved that problem. I also like the added crunch I get with the 10's...especially in drop D tuning.

I didn't do anything to the nut in case I wanted to go back to 9's for any reason.

I put 10's on my Luke two months ago. Same experience: the Luke really rocks now.
No problems with the nut, maybe you have to adjust the bridge for the thicker strings for the intonation may be different. (otherwise your Luke goes out of tune when you play higher on the neck).

Good luck and rock on.
