I watched one on public TV, "Close To You
Remembering The Carpenters" and it was done through the eyes of Richard Carpenter mostly him being interviewed.
Also had Petula Clark, Herb Alpert (the "A" in A&M records), Burt Bacherach, and Paul Williams being interviewed.
I have a totaly ecclectic taste in music and these people were big in the 60's and 70's.
Richard Carpenter said that Karen was a "drummer who sang" (she didn't have any formal singing lessons).
I knew they were talented but for the longest while i felt that the music was dated and sappy and this docu. opened my eyes (and ears) to this style of music.
Technically speaking their music is spot on, well written and arranged.
It's really sad to see tallented artists pass away early in their careers.
I just had to write this and really recomend anyone to watch this if it comes on again.
