Well now we can see one reason that this bass is
so special, perhaps having a sound like no other:
What kinda PU is that ? It's not BassLines, cuz I
know those have visible poles.
I've got an old SR with a complete SD Basslines
do-over, and it's rather different, less coarse but
still plenty growly, than an all-EBMM SR4.
To the OP....there is a sparkle red with black headstock 2004 LE for sale on a certain auction site right now that looks mint and also looks like a reasonable buy now price...may not be exactly like your first love but may be a good surrogate![]()
It's EMG. At first I was against it as most ppl here are. If its not MM
it's not right. But I now LOVE it. That thing is HOT
My BassLines SR4 is my first MM, of which there's now about a dozen
on hand and a [very] few others that have come and gone. So it's the
first of about 16 MM basses [+/-]. Ain't a damnt thing about it that's
"not right" and a whole lot about it thaz mucho booceau very plenty
right. I've had it about 12 yrs and just last night I discovered thay the
volume pot is a push-pull switch that switches on a whole nuther bass !
Kinda like NBD with no need to find another parking space for another
bass in the house. 12 YEARS !!! I do feel waaaaay dumb on that score.
Sooooo, just to help me feel less way dumb, I popped the hood just to
see if any other discoveries might await and well blow me down ! Two
teansy trim pots to twiddle ! Yeah, this IS like a toadally free NBD![]()
So, see if you can get you a big "EMG" sticker to put on your PG. You
gotta celebrate RBD [Reunion Bass Day].
