Weird. It's listed as new and yet it comes with a gig bag? Their website hows the same thing (they have a few balls incidentally). I notice there are no photos of the serial number or where the 2005 LE logo would normally be and I'm a little uneasy about that. He also lists a PAF Pro in there, which isn't the case at all.

I wonder what the story is. Is there a guitar out there with a mis-matched buttercream headstock? Was this a NOS 2005LE that had a problem with the original neck which was replaced with a roasted neck? Why no hard case?

+1
No case = strange
And I think there aren't many fully maple roasted necks around..

Maybe I'll ask them for the serial number, just for the fun of it.

That was replied very quick! Allright, the details:
- limited edition for a German distributor
- indeed buttercream and all maple roasted neck
- the distributor decided to order them with a gigbag instead of a hardshell case (don't know why they would do that?)

I posted the serial number in the appropriate thread to verify.

Apparently there are limited editions around we don't know about! Hate to not know what terrific Music Man are out there :D;)

Martins Musikkiste is a very well known EBMM dealer in germany and a great guy to deal with.
sometimes Musik-Meyer (the german distributer) orders some limited runs, just like the buttercream silo with roasted neck, or the black-edition silo spec. with ebony fretboard or the pearl redburst JP with black hardware and ebony board ( i have one of these - only 25 were made)

Just saw the production info from A.J. (How awesome is this place!): the color is classic white instead of buttercream. Awesome nonetheless!

Wish they would do something like that for the US market. My wife would be divorcing me, but I would have a new silhouette on the way.

omg gorgeous

Peter, the price is high, but they'll ship to the US. Kind of funny, a guitar that originated in the US (Cali), shipped to Germany, to be shipped back to the US (possibly Cali). Hahahahahahahaha, that guitar would have gotten around. :D

that´s the big difference between US limited runs and EU limited runs, you guys can get it back to the US, but we have to wait until one shows up second hand before we get the chance to get one.
and to the price, that´s a normal price in germany for a new EBMM guitar!
a Y2D trem is about 2800.- Euros, a JP BFR is 3900.- euros!
don´t want to start a discussion about prices, but yes, we pay a lot for those guitars!

Like Joe said, we europeans miss out on quite a few US (read GC) editions too, Dark Lord, Turquoise roasted JP, tributes etc. Which occasionally surface here, but because they're a US limited edition, are even more expensive. VERY weird though they ordered them with a gig bag. Every Music Man should come with a case IMO. Gorgeous guitar BTW.
