Anyone using flats on their Bongo?

I suspect Jack probably does on at least one of his Bongos. Anyone else? What strings?

i dont use 'em but ive read that a lot of people use TI Flats and i remember a few people saying that they liked the DR Chromes

Jack has TI flats on his Carbon Blue 4HS. He mentions on his site that he had some neck issues b/c the flats weren't pulling enough tension to give proper relief to the neck.

Yeah, I know all about TI Flats and D'Addario Chromes. My fretless Stingray has TI's and my fretted Stingrays have the Chromes. I suspect the Chromes are going to be a better option for the high output Bongo.

I'm gonna string on of my Stingrays with Chromes next time I need a string change. I don't know what Funky C put on my Bongo but they're some powerhouse strings. The have a grey wrap on the end-- haven't seen that one before.

I suspect with your knowledge of setup and use TI flats should be killer on the Bongo.
Not to argue. but is there a better flat than TI? I think not.

I also believe Bov said his Bongo with TI flats and the Dual HH could level cities. I do believe he has TI flats on more than one Bongo as well. I think he will answer up soon enough.

If not TI flats I would try the new TI strings out.

The only problem I had was with the Desert Gold Bongo 4 - the TIs just didn't have enough tension to pull that particular neck into proper relief. Solution? LaBella Deep Talking Flats! They rock.

The other three Bongos (!) have TIs on 'em with no problems at all.

how much does a Bongo costs there mark?

Retail price is AUD$3195 for a HH. Street price (the price I paid) is AUD$2600 (c.US$1800). Bass Central can ship to Australia for a little better than that, but I decided to buy local on this occasion.

Add $300 for shipping to Australia. Add 10% tax. Not much difference in the price I paid.
