I'm a fan of Skinny Top / Heavy Bottom strings and I'm thinking of swapping out the stock strings on my Axis for a set of these.

Any of you guys using the skinny / heavy combo on your Axis - are there any issues I need to be ware of apart from the nut needing a bit of filing?

I use the Hybrid Slinkys (9-46) on my Axis and have never had any issues. If you go with Skinny Top Heavy Bottom you may need to do a set up... but should be fine. If you haven't tried the Hybrids I do suggest it because I get monster tone out of it.

On my Morse I am currently using 10 / 52 strings (before I was using 10 / 46). I did not need to file the nut (my Morse is 10 years old, thus it does not have the compensated nut). I only had to adjust a bit the trussrod.

they sound alot brighter than usual strings because they're also alot tighter (even if you drop D, the A and D strings are still tighter). my D string pings when i tune.
