Took Norm's advice and went to GC last weekend to load up on strings.
While I was waiting for the guy to come back from the stockroom with a case of GHS BOOMERS  , I was browsing the DVD instructional area.

The ALBERT LEE HIGHLIGHTS DVD caught my eye.
Always felt kinda ripped off he couldn't make the Open House :p
So for $20 I snagged it.

Put it on that night and Low and Behold BIG POPPA is playing bass on 1/2 a dozen tunes Albert's band plays. Lots off face (and fingering) time for him playing a killer looking one off bass (EBMM I think). Looks like he's having the best time up there.

Had never seen Albert play before. YIKES! Tremendous tone, great songwriting and jawdropping licks. Uses the Albert Lee for all but one tune. Highly recommended.

Albert Lee had a clinic here at the beach......I was "away" yet again, so I was unable to go. My bud went and said it was awesome and that Al was a very super cool dude.

I will have to check out the vid.....sounds great..

Keith,

I saw that video at my local EBMM dealer last year, on some sort of clearance (many of the instructional vids were). I almost nabbed it but didn't. I'll have to go take a look next time.

that bass is a 1 off SR4 that was posted on the bass side on one of the Tuesday tortures (or some similar thread)

on a related note: while loading up at the GC string sale last weekend I grabbed a copy of Rock Discipline. Its a pretty expensive DVD, but the dude at GC and i are chummy since Ive purchsed a bunch fo stuff from him so he slahed the hell outta the price of the DVD for me. anywho ... ya that DVDs like guitar boot camp. watching that DVDs has made me take particing far more seriously (ironically mostly my bass practicing)
