Hey guys recently inquired with my local music shop (in Australia) about the availability of a JPX 7 string, but the shop informed me that EBMM has stopped manufacturing the JPX 7, can anybody tell me whether this is true?

Still on the main website, so still in production I think. Strange for a dealer to make a statement like that.

If I had to venture a guess, they probably figured that like some companies, once the JPXI came out, that effectively replaced the JPX, and the 13 the XII, etc. Just a hunch. That's how I thought it was until I did even a tiny bit of research lol.

Problems sourcing hardware? What hardware is unique to the JPX that isn't on any other JP7? Schaller still makes locking tuners, EBMM makes their own bridges for the JP, and the rest is screws, pots, and knobs. What is there to source?

My guess - somebody somewhere is making up a stupid excuse for something or other.

The 5 way switch and black hardware are the unique aspects of the X vs all other JP models.... But does sound like someone making up some bull attempting to sound like they are "in the know".
