Hi folks,

Quick question from a prospective buyer. I've been GASing after a Luke for a good few years now but the one thing that always put me off was the painted, rather than transparent, finishes. I tried to get my hands on a Bali Blue Burst a couple of years back (or was it more?) but no US dealer would ship one to the UK. So, when I saw the Neptune Blue I was over the moon. However, contacted my local PDN dealer and they contacted the UK distributors but, apparently, all the batch of Neptune Blue Luke 2s or BFRs have been manufactured and are spoken for?

Seems a real shame. May end up importing one from the continent (there's a lovely NB BFR Luke in Germany) but would be so much easier doing it through a local store.

Many thanks.

Edit: Just realised the post name should read "PDN Neptune Blue Lukes". Oops!

Welcome to the forum, Alistair. Good luck on your quest for the perfect Luke.

Thanks. I had a Luke, years ago, and loved it. Regret selling it now but that's the joys of guitars! You never know what you've got 'til it's gone! Spent the last 10 years building up the perfect rig and now want another one. Has to be a Luke 2 or BFR though. Much as the III is pretty, it's that specific EMG sound from the '80s Toto and '90s Los Lobotomies records that I want. Also, ideally should have a rosewood board. I'm too lazy to keep maple ones clean!

Jason, thanks for the link. I'll keep an eye on their site. Also watching Pro Music Tools in Germany as they have a quilt BFR Neptune Blue heading in. Not cheap, but quality rarely is!

Hi Alistair.

I picked up my PDN LIII HH from Merchant City Music a couple of weekends ago. www. guitar.co.uk

They had another PDN LIII HH all maple necked for general sale on their display. I'm sure they have more due to arive in the new year as part of the second order window. Worth giving them a call as they are really helpful and reasonably local.

Also try Music Street as they have/had one available a week or so ago. Same model but with a rosewood neck.

Hey Alistair, there are just a few left in Guitar Center stores in the US. I'm wondering if strictly speaking the Rosewood neck LIIIs qualify as a discontinued model, and the Bali Burst was a limited run which is strictly speaking ended, i.e. it's NOS, in which case they might be able to ship overseas. Maybe you should give Guitar Center a call and ask.

Anyone remember (correctly and accurately) when the rules on shipping overseas don't apply? Do we think the rosewood neck LIIIs would qualify?

(Edit - sorry thought you were looking for a LIII, not Luke 2. When did they do a Bali Burst Luke 2? I don't remember that.)

There have been 2 PDN windows this time around;

1st was May-June (1 month)
2nd was in August for 1 week.

The 1st window orders have been out for delivery over the past month(s) and the 2nd window are expected around the start of the year (if i'm correct in what Merchant City were saying).

I think this PDN has been the most successful for a wee while but I doubt they will open up a 3rd window.

Were they easy to deal with John?

And I'll give Merchant City a phone Mr. B. GuitarGuitar don't seem to be able to get one but they've only just become a Premier Dealer so they may have missed the order boat?

Hi Alistair, the guys are pro music tools were really helpful to me, we went back and forth with a few mails and pictures before i bought the guitar, i just wanted to be sure i was getting the guitar i wanted, i got it in a couple of days and everything was perfect, i'd recommend them,
