Hi there, I just picked up a set of coated EBs from guitar center and then read that the thinner strings are coated in titanium. Since titanium is super hard, I'm wondering if it would accelerate fret wear. Any definitive answer on this? Thanks!:):)

Hey Bible Man,

I can't say for certain, but I wouldn't have any concern for premature fret wear.

King David would have loved to string up a set of these on his lyre - he wouldn't had to tune so often. And, his extra practicing would have probably kept him out of a little trouble too.

Thanks for the replies. If the titanium is just at the ball end, do the rest of the unwound strings have any coating? The only mention of the unwound strings I saw was about the titanium. I'm a little paranoid at the moment because I just bought the first guitar I've had in a few years and she's a beauty - ESP EC 1000.:D

The coating used is a thin coating of Baked Enamel used on all strings including the plain strings
