It's pretty much my dream guitar. Played one once and can't get it out of my head. Mind it was a non-BFR and the French prices were out of whack, but I still want one and I'm considering selling all my electrics to be able to afford one.

However given that USA BFR prices are pretty much the same as non-US non-BFR ones, I don't see any reason not to go for the prestige version. Do they exist?

No. The Albert Lee BFR is only available in the SSS configuration.

I know Mike (Straycat) has dropped about 934 hints at having the AL HH BFR made available but to no avail. I think that would be my next purchase as well as I currently do not own a HH AL. Pinkburst+AL+HH=Yes.

Not exactly sure what the point would be. Most BFR models on existing models have two varying options that make them BFR. First is usually (though not exclusively) the mahog tone block. The AL HH is already solid mahog. Second being a different neck (such as roasted, finished, all rosewood) and the AL HH already comes with the ALL RW neck.

So its basically a BFR, just doesn't have the inlay.

Oh... well I prefer it without the inlay. But I would have thought the wood quality to be better (or more 'premium' as the buzz words would say). Not to complain about non-BFR wood quality mind you. But to me that is the #1 criteria in an electric guitar: wood quality and unplugged tone (to a lesser extent). Pickups and hardware are replaceable, wood is not.

Well, my roasted AL HH has the BFR inlay and COA. But apart from the roasted neck, the wood is the same as a regular AL. In my opinion it is perfect as it is, no wood upgrading required!

I love my vintage white AL HH just the way it is!

But it's true, a pinkburst finish option would be so cool! Of course also for the SSS! Maybe EBMM will offer it next year when it's Albert Lee's 70th birthday - that would be a fantastic reason! :)

Thanks y'all. Now to afford the European prices. She will be mine... one day.
