Hi Im about to purchase a lp6 le blue dawn. Cant wait til i get it!
I noticeed that the color looks a bit different on varius photos, some are like blue burst and some are like blue burst AND sparkling flakes in the finish.

Is it just that the photos are taken from different angles and changes nyance like mysticdream or is it two kinds of finishes?

Like em both but hopefuly its just one finish right?

Here are two pics of what i mean have not seen them i realyty so im curius is it the magic of blue dawn!?

Hi & Welcome.

Yup, just the one finish.

Bright light and flash etc will really bring out the sparkle / flake, the 1st pic shows what it looks like under normal / dull light.

^Dizz is right.

Being a Blue Dawn owner, some input here:

It is a sparkle color with tiny blue glitters that reflects the light to your eyes at different angle you look at it, very much like the finish on a MXR Carbon Copy pedal, but blue in color..sorry I mean blue-burst from black - very nice!! Go check out the mxr pedal and you know what I mean.

The paint is the same, here are a few shots from an older thread where someone was making a stink thinking they weren't the same paint because some photos show a sparkle and some don't.

.....

Any discrepancies in color & "sparkle content" between NAMM show photos, outdoor photos, flash photos, and indoor natural light photos can be attributed solely to the lighting used for that particular photo. Bottom line is, if you take a picture of an older Blue Dawn and a new 2007 LE under the same lighting conditions, you will see that the paint is the same.

Blue Dawn is not an outrageous sparkle, it is a subdued & sophisticated sparkle.

Sorry if the pics below irritate any dial-up users.

These last two pics show the '07 LUKE and '01 Axis Sport looking different when switched from the front of the photo to the rear - Notice how the AL in the middle (which does not change position) appears the same.

That's a one-off factory installed HSS AL Pete was able to purchase a while back. I don't remember who it was originally made for but it was verified as a factory job.

It was made by a former employee.

It was originally made for Greg Timmons who used to work at EB in the Artist Relations dept.

Pete - to me every pic above shows sparkle .......

Those pics were taken in semi-direct bright light and direct bright light to show that the amount of "sparkle" can change dramatically based upon light source. If pictures were taken with indirect/controlled lighting, they would look more like the shot below, when compared to using a flash.

I was totally blown away when I first opened the case of my Luke:eek:
