The RPS's are already nickel wound, but on a brass core. The website lists the core for the R&R's as tin plated steel core.

Would the difference in core metals make a huge difference?

Just asking. . .

I just tried a set of gibson pure nickel on my guitar and I really like them better compared to the the RPS strings. BUt, I like the construction of the RPS with e extra wound at the ball end.

The R&R strings are pure nickel, not nickel wound.

Yeah, the #2253's are (pure).

Dave, just out of curiosity, do you break a lot of strings at the ball end? What kind of guitar do you play?

I don't break many - actually, it's very rare that I break one - it's just that I had been using the RPS for a long time and think the design is a good idea.

I play a PRS McCarty now - I can't play the small ebmm necks anymore...
