Well, according to their site and VHND (Van Halen News Desk -- www.vhnd.com), they keep saying that they have been working on new ****, but that's all that's come out of that. I kept hearing this and that's about them releasing an album earlier this year (who was to be at the helm was beyond me).
My grandfather and EVH were the two main people that influenced me to pick up the guitar...I've already lost one of them, and to lose the other would be an absolute tragedy. Just my take...
The VH brothers have no label, no singer, no management that I know of, and EVH lost his wife too.
It pains me to say it but the glory days of VH are totally over as far as I can tell. What a shame.
The only real "action" out of VH last year was a golf tourney or two and going after fan websites that used his red/white/black stripes...."intellectual property" I believe he calls it. Talk about aleniating your fans.
I would take Hagar over Roth any day. I saw them both on tour last summer. It was fun to see. However Roth just doesn't have it anymore. He is kind of an embarrassment. He is not the Roth of the 1984 era.
Hagar on the other hand smoked. He sounded great. Even his Crate Red Voodoo's sounded amazing. I am not a big fan of Crate amps but man....
Oh yeah...Ernie Ball guitars smoke...Someday I will own one.
First time on the site, but the only way I see them getting back together is with Sammy at the helm. Michael Anthony seems to hang out with him quite a bit, and I think It may be possible that they could mend their way's. I believe VH is up for induction into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in a few years. Maybe Sammy and the band can patch things up so they can for that, I don't know?
