...and none of them fits my Bongo's battery compartment! Fortunately, the latest pair I bought worked, but now I have plenty of 9V batteries for the only device I have that uses them: My electronic tuner, which I only use for tuning my electric upright and I'm not gigging that much with it nowadays. Is this a common problem?

I have noticed that every battery is different in size, even from the same company. I have also noticed that Duracell Pro's are larger than regular Duracell's

Make sure the female pole on the Duracell is squared off with the body of the 9v cell. If it is not square, it doesn't properly fit in the battery compartment. If you look in the compartment, the negative side of the battery fits into a square hole. If the square female ( - ) side is not square/parallel with the body (and therefore the compartment), it won't always fit into the battery compartment. I test fit 4 batteries before I realized what the issue was. Now, no more issues - I just bust out the pliers and make the stupid thing fit..

heh, I just tried that with a Duracell I couldn't get to work on my bass (had it in my tuner) and it works! Thank's Pete, good tip!

My friend was the manager at a dollar store. Do you know how many times she was asked the question, "hey, how much does this cost"?

TOO MANY, I tell ya. Too many.

I realise that I have the same Dura' in my bongo since april 05, and they still work (I'm playing "plugged" 4 to 8 hours a week). Didn't had any problem as I had to change the stock ones.
