Hey all! First time poster here but I can't seem to find any information on the topic.
I've been a long time Les Paul player but recently picked up a StingRay guitar and it is absolute perfection.

It got me looking at Armadas because they seem to be right up my alley...but I can't find any new ones in stock at my preferred retailers. Have they been discontinued? Or perhaps production is just on hold to ramp up on the new models? Any insight is welcomed!

They are still available for 2018. 2 finish options can be ordered. Black or Balboa Blue Flame. MAP on the Black is $2,799.99 and $2,899.99 on the Balboa Blue Flame.

So it will likely just be a while before they start showing up in stock again?

Call EBMM customer support and they can help you find any new ones that might be in stock with dealers. Otherwise, you’d have to order one from a dealer and wait for it to be built and delivered.

I've seen quite a few on eBay and Reverb lately, some new. There are several EBMM models that just don't get stocked all that much anymore, but are still available.

I don’t spend much time browsing reverb or eBay, since I don’t need any more help discovering guitars I “need,” but that’s a good call on checking those sites. But if you’re not willing to go outside your “preferred retailers,” you may well have to order and wait.

You can definitely call your preferred dealer and ask them to order one for you. Ernie Ball only produces what dealers order, they don't build them to simply have on hand as warehouse/inventory

I am so close to pulling the trigger on one of the B Stock ones on Reverb...but I just can't quite convince myself to go through with it. I don't have much confidence in Music123.

Yeah, they are customer returns. I believe they are the same open box items from Musician’s Friend too.

We probably should have stopped offering the Armada this year since we sell very few of them. I wouldn't be shocked if it were discontinued next year. I still love the fatness of the pickups and want to use them on some BFR runs.

That’s too bad.. I’m glad I already have one. Absolutely love it!

Scott, I know that they are proprietary, but could you possibly tell us anything about the Armada pickups? I love the pickups in my Armada! Anything regarding their specs or any anecdotal information about how they came into existence would be appreciated if you are able to discuss such things.

I actually just picked up a Sky Blue open box Armada HH from Musician's Friend this week--it arrived on Wednesday. Other than a very fine finish crack right by the nut, it is perfect--and the light needs to hit it just right to even catch it.

I've had a lot of luck getting good deals on open box through them--they won't honor the usual coupon deals (even if you call in) on any open box in my experience, but I've bought an Axis Super Sport MM90 and HH, along with a Silhouette through them as open box since 2016 and all looked brand new--even if they were marked "blemished" rather than mint. So far I'm very happy with the Armada (I know it's not real without pics but my phone is on its last legs).

I'm seriously thinking about selling my LP Traditional to replace it with an Armada. Does it scratch the LP itch?

It has neither the shape nor look of an LP (which may be a pro or a con depending on one's preferences - its a pro for me), but other than that, it does the LP thing better than most LPs I've played. As I mentioned earlier, the pickups are awesome - not too hot, but nice and chimey. It has the EBMM compensated nut and truss rod wheel adjustment, which are very important to me and which no LP will have. And then there is the quality of the craftsmanship: you would need to get into the custom shop range of LPs price-wise to match what comes standard on all EBMMs. Finally, the neck on the Armada is BIG.
