Armada Talk

Well have not heard much on the forum about the Armada, they should be in the wild soon, I am expecting to see/ try one at the DIGF in Mid April

I have been doing some googeling to see if any have made it into the wild and for reviews/sound clips. During my search found several links to other forums including the Joe B forum, Gibson, Fender, Gear Page etc. about it mainly threads asking what do you think, and mainly negative replies, many calling it ugly.

Anyways I at first was not too interested but did not think it ugly, now I am quite interested in one, test drive being the key to getting one.

So what do you other knuckleheads think?

I'm definitely getting one, saving for it now. It'll be a little while but id say sometime this year I'll have it. Black on black. I'll probably offload my trans gold Axis, to help fund it, since I rarely play it.

I like the Radi-Clasical look it has going for it...radi-classical that sounds good =)
I am not very fond of 24 3/4 scale so it is not a match for me.

It is definitley a high octane look in my book, very styling indeed!

I was not at all into the look from the initial pictures however I got to play them all at NAMM and am truly impressed with the feel of these guitars. The black ones do it a ton of justice and now am liking the other finishes as well. It truly is a cool guitar and I am very pleased that EB pushes in different unique directions with there instruments.

Based on looks not for me but I bet it sounds amazing , hats off to Ebmm for producing a guitar that stands out from the crowd. Would love to see one in the flesh though .

When I first saw it I was unmoved, in fact I didn't really like the look of it. Over the intervening months I've grown to like it and now I'm actually really liking it. That often happens with new and unfamiliar designs, and I'm sure I'm not alone. One thing that makes a big difference is the colour choice because of the dual wood design. I absolutely love the black/blue idea.

Above all, credit to EBMM for having the courage to try something new and push the boundaries of conventional design. Sometimes we need to be pushed out of our comfort zones. I can't wait to see and try one in the flesh.

My final thought, I know EBMM don't normally offer custom options, but I think this model above all others lends itself to the option of offering customers a choice of individual finish from the factory colour pallet. I don't know about the logistics or practicalities, and fully understand that this may not be a viable option.

This seems to be a polarizing aesthetic ! Because of this it will generate a lot of interest. If it delivers on the playing experience then it will likely be slowly building snowball and a force to be reckoned with. I am interested in it because it first repelled me then it drew me in. It's a must play. I am interested in the custom voiced in house pups too. In the mock up Armada thread there seemed to be a big response to the sea foam and white color combo. I have to admit this looks good to me as well and I would personally like to hear this guitar so I can determine its comfort and feel. For me, the solid colors seem to be, at least on a screen, more attractive. We shall see. I am excited to try one. Pete I hope you will have a few for stock at

It is indeed a great playing guitar. I sat down with one at NAMM for a while and really liked the way the neck felt in my hands. It sounded good through the headphones, but I think one really needs to plug into an amp to get a real feel for the way it sounds. Seems to me like it would be quite resonant and would likely sound killer plugged into a Marshall or Mesa.

However, I must admit that the look of the design is not for me. I'm definitely more of a Silhouette kind of guy.
