Tommy, sounds great!!!

I got your voice mails but haven't had a chance to call you back or make my own arrangements, a good friend of mine was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday and the past few days have been a blur. I'm not sure why I came back to work today, but hey at least I have a chance to check out things here...

talk to you later,
fred

Tommy, where are you flying in from?

Mebbe my bro and I can schedule the same flight into SLO from the connecting airport... tell me THAT wouldn't be some trouble on the flight ;)

Fred, sorry to hear that :( one of our good family friends died in a motorcycle accident 1 week before Thanksgiving, he and his family were supposed to come down from NY and spend it with us. It's never easy, you and his family will be in my thoughts/prayers!

Pete,
I guess a lot depends on if you can get to the wine during the flight...

Thanks to all for the kinds thoughts and prayers. He was only 24 and thought he was invincible. Most people do at that age I guess. He was quite a character and made an impression on everyone he met. One of the good ones was taken and he'll be missed.

My post (or maybe a PM) about the TRAVELODGE being on madonna rd doesn't seem to jibe with the AAA guide. I must have got it wrong. Says it's on Monterey st.

Anyone book a room anywhere yet?

I'm doing it next week.
BTW Thursday night in San Simeon at the SEA BREEZE INN (1/2 hour from SLO, ocean view, around 55 bucks)

I'm out at Orbitz and Travelocity checking flights right now. It looks like I can get a flight into SLO at 11:50 on Friday morning. $465. Not too shabby. I'll be traveling through San Francisco on United. Once I get the flight booked, I'll worry about the room.

Pete, you might be on to something... stay far away from the wild/wierd ones. :D

fred

Hey Tommy, it looks like we'll be on the same flight into SLO... Oh sheet...

I'm currently booked at the Travelodge - it looked like a fairly good deal. I'm still trying to decide whether to fly into LA or SF. It looks like the same distance either way. Does anyone think one drive is nicer than the other?

No comparison.
Driving south is along the ocean 1000-2000 feet below.
Driving north is rolling hills and Lake cachuma if you take the 154. (a lovely drive, just not as dramatic or breathtaking.)

for all of you arrivingin slo friday afternoon I suggest a rondevous point. It is called the Firestone Grill. It is on the corner of Higuera and Osos street in charming downtown SLO.
I will probably be there. They have KILLER food it is one of the fun hangs in our town.

Some of you may know that one of my hobbies is cooking and I did the recipes for the salads except for the generic ceasar. Did anyone happen to catch the Dweezil and Lisa show I was on the food network last year . it was a lot of fun. While Im spamming you about me I am on a Peter Jacobsen and friends show on the Golf Channel that I m sure they will repeat. It is taped from the CLB this year . It is a roundtable with PGA tour golfer Jonathan Kaye, Brad Paisleys wife Kimberly Williams, and one of my best pals Figure Skater Scott Hamilton

At the grill se how much BP trivia you can find.

Enough about me....

BP,

If you think I can be influenced by good food, well then you're absolutely right. Hope to see you at the Grill. My flight arrives at 11:50am, so even if we get delayed, I ought to have some 'wiggle' room.

mabey you'll recognize me.....i was the one you kept yelling across.... 50 dollar fine ....steve morse lick.... at the guytron booth across from your booth a few years ago in nashville.....
it was somewhat unavoidable being i had to stand there and play 7 hrs a day..2 days... days in a row......3 days in l.a. that was soooooo much fun though....i got to meet ALL kinds of people !!!!!
i also kept getting in trouble for playing my old morse instead of the reverends that were also on display......

BP, I'm searching the Golf Channel listings right now. Can you give me any more pointers as to when it might be on? The descriptions (Dish Network) are pretty cryptic...right now they are playing the Pro-Am from Pebble Beach, and Augusta episodes... Ideas?

Ok...and I know I'm still a new EB owner and fairly new to this board, but is there a "who's who" listed anywhere? I'd love to learn more about our moderators, EB employees, etc. You guys all seem to know each other already! I feel left out and I want in! :D

So there could be a possibility of a cooking demonstration/contest thrown in with the martini and margarita contest mentioned in the other post?
