I'm considering changing my MM90's for Seymour Duncan P90 Stacks, and switching the 3 way for a 5 so I can add the coil split tones to the standard ones - plus my Piezo tremolo ones... ;)

Has anyone tried this with the SDP90 Stacks? Wondering about the height issues as mentioned on the SD P90 web page.

Any knowledge helpful! :)

Mainly considering for the versatility of tones and also My neck pup sounds a bit weak for some reason. :(

Haven't tried 'em, but having played other P90s I can't imagine wanting to part with the stock MM90s- they are remarkably good pickups. If your problem is the neck volume, you might try shimming it to bring it up slightly. I find they're well balanced on my Axis Sport MM90 though.

The SDs look to be a humbucker in a P90 package- they'll be noise-free but I'm guessing you won't get the "sparkle" you get with true single coils. Most noise-frees are close but usually miss the mark slightly. They do have 4 conductors- so with the 5 way switch you could probably get humbucking tones wiring each p'up in series as well as the intended parallel wiring. Might be neat.
