I seem to recall in previous threads when asked about battery brands to use, it has been recommended that 'standard' duracell 9V's are the preferred type. I also seem to recall that 'ultra's were renowned for being slightly larger and didn't fit properly in the battery compartment (SR4 at least).

Problem is I live in the UK, and we only have Duracell 'plus' and 'ultra' so I figured I'd go for the 'plus' assuming they were equivalent to the US 'standard' but find they are still difficult to fit. I have to squeeze them in there and though they usually come out by hand, the other day I had to use a wrench to get it out (probably not good!) Can anyone recommend any other brands that may fit better? I've no idea why these batterys are all different sizes in the first place, it would make life a lot easier if they were but I suppose most electronic products have those little connectors that you have to clip on, rather than just sliding the battery into the compartment to connect the poles.

Sorry for my boring question :D

I noticed this when we were over there a few weeks ago, it rendered one of our cameras useless. If no one can recommend a solution for you send me a pm with your address and I’d be happy to send you a box of them.

There was a Duracell battery in the compartiment when I bought my SR4. When I needed to replace the battery, the battery box didn't opened properly, and when I finally replaced the battery -> no sound!
I went to my bass tech, and het told my the cables from the battery compartment to the EQ had snapped (because of opening the compartiment with a battery that was too big).
I use regular alkaline battery's now, and the last several months, so no problems anymore

Still got the original set of batteries in my Bongo, but I've got a set of rechargable NiMH Energizer 9vs waiting once the O.G.s give.

I use Energizers. That's what they sell in bulk at Sam's Club so that's what I use. They seem to work fine for me.

+1

Energizers.
Had no problems, however I play Stingray5 2001 model. Don't kniow if the batterycompartment is any different from model to model.

good luck to ya'

Thanks for all the responses, I will give UK energizers a spin and see if they fit better. If not, then I appreciate your offer of exporting a case of 'regulars' to me Psycho! Many Thanks :)
