Currently, I've got to seriously reduce my sonic arsenal. There's only a few things that will remain as I need them to keep on playing...one of which is my beloved Silo. She is my ultra-flexible all time favorite tool, however, I wish to get a little more chunky power in the bridge position. Has anyone ever tried the DiMarzio AT-1 in the bridge of a Silo....or has anyone it in that place on another HSH guitar?

The point is, I don't want to completely tear up the sonic integrity of the Silo.....so, the tone doctors among you, what do you think?

The AT-1 is a fantastic pickup! Medium output, but very fat; sounds quite similar to a Duncan JB. My favorite humbucker is the Dimarzio Tone Zone, but I prefer the AT-1 when the guitar is H-S-S because the volume balances better with the singles.

Actually, strike that, my favorite pickup is the Dimarzio Axis, but you can't buy those aftermarket...

Are you guys changing to 500k pots when you add these pickups? I'm also thinking of trying a new bridge pickup.

Yes. I like the way it sounds much more. I even like the way the singles sound better with the 500k. I finally use the tone knob now!

Congrats to a lovely Silo! I personally only own a JP6. But: I have the AT-1 in my ... well ... Ibanez AT-100 guitar and it is an incredible pickup for a Strat-like guitar. The tonal capabilities are multifaceted, providing everything from sweet subtle tones to screaming leads. However, it is definitely a quite gentle pickup. Not tamed at all, but also far away from "right-in-our-face". I really enjoy this humbucker.

I had a AT-1 in my old Silo Special. HSS. It rocked! I did switch the volume pot to 500k to bring out some of the highs though. I found it a little too warm with the stock 250k......just didn't quite sing like I wanted it to.
