I showed this silverburst photo to a few friends and got mixed reactions. My favorite negative reaction was, "It looks like a major appliance."

:D

But for what it's worth, and all you have to do is look at what basses I own to understand what my opinion is truly worth, but in any case - I like it!

It looks kinda lavender-y/lilac-y/purple-y. May just be the lighting, but if that were the case, then I would definitely say cool and potentially begin shoving hunderd dollar bills between its body and G-string!

All of us at the show from GC think it would be a winner. Looks even better in person. That finish at that price seems like a winning combo.

Pictures of the new SBMM Ray34 were also posted in TB. Comments on the color were very positive though about half the responders wanted a maple fret board.

It seems to be xomething that more people wanted than didnt....

There is a rumor that a certain Silverburst Human was searching for Pat Park in order to inquire about the possibility of acquiring a certain Silverburst bass.

(As if he needed to buy yet another bass this month.)

Just went back to the thread in TB and out of 26 responses to the original post, 7 specifically mentioned a preference for a maple board.

My "down and dirty" research for the day! :D

They're worse than us if you're looking for true market research!

looks great!

I'd want a maple fretboard though. The only option right now is the natural, not really my cup of tea.

I wasn't wild about that color at first but it has grown on me. I'm either total vintage guy or total 80's wild color guy. Glen has the bass now and when I get it back from him, just for kicks I have an extra maple fingerboard neck to install and see if it looks better with maple. Personally, I think the darker rosewood works with that color.

Wish I could've stayed longer at BP Live. The roundtable discussion was great and it could have gone on much longer. It was interesting to hear these great players talk about being o the road, dealing w/ other musicians. When it was over at 12, I was not bored and could have listened for another hour. You just don't get to see that much talent in one room and access to that much experience.
