Chris Cornell can SING is about all I can say. Spot on the whole night.

The Rock WCCC 106.9 FM celebrated their 30th anniversary last month, with a concert last night as the grand finale. Audioslave headlined, with Seether, Hinder, 30 Seconds to Mars, and local band LivinTrust (COM Fest vet)

Audioslave played for about 2 hours or so, and in the second half/end of the performance they broke out the big guns...

Rusty Cage
Spoonman
Black Hole Sun - first half acoustic and nicely done

then

Bulls on Parade - instrumental
Sleep Now in the Fire
Killing in the Name Of

Great time, great concert, and I got to bring the Miller Van :) We even invented a new sport while we were outside in the parking lot.
Combine the always party-popular "keg stand" with the Miller Van, and you get "Van Stands" heh heh heh. Pics will be up on millervan.com soon (- my buddy is lazier than I am when it comes to maintaining a website

Pete...Is Chris doing the vocals on the old Rage stuff? Interesting. I liked Soundgarden(read Chris Cornell) and LOVED Rage. Dissapointed in Audioslave.

Black Hole Sun is one of my all time favorite songs by any artist.
Glad to hear it still lives on.

Same here. Funny how Audioslave turned out to be less than the sum of their parts (IMO).

I feel the same about Velvet Revolver. I love Slash and I love Duff so i assumed id like any band they were in together but i didnt get into VR. They're good but i guess i was secretly hoping for GnR w/ another singer but IMO they have more of an STP thing going than a GnR thing.

Mother Love Bone used to be one of my favorite bands. Too bad about Andrew Wood, he would have been a superstar..................On another note Chris Cornell's solo album(Euphoria Morning) is also really good.

Yeah he is. I'm a bit disappointed that the music they play is more laid back than what they used to play in their old bands. Kind of my thoughts on Staind, too - usually the wuss-rock single gets played on the radio, I guess to get the girls?

Superunknown was the first CD I ever bought. Soundgarden has always been one of my favorite bands. I always liked Rage, but never cared enough to buy any of their stuff. However, I really, really like Audioslave. The first album just rocks, which I find a rarity these days and it completely stands on its own merit. The second CD I didn't care for all that much at first, but after listening to it a few times I have really grown to like it. I can see why big fans of the other two bands might not be all that thrilled with them that much, but I think if Audioslave was just a band, seperate from its precursors, people would appreciate these CD's differently.

*ears perk up*

Whooo hooo! More Temple fans!

I LOVE Temple of the Dog. Apparently, there were a couple of TOTD shows back in the day in Seattle. We have (here at the house) the Mother Love Bone CD with Chloe Dancer on it, which also ended up on the soundtrack for Singles (the movie). Too bad they didn't put any Temple on that soundtrack.
