I've seen them twice with Jamie and his piezo trem SiLO Special. That guitar sounds so good to me. Last time I saw them they opened with "The Dark Side of the Moon" in it's entirety. Their version of "Us and Them" (I thought) was the highlight of the show. Possibily bested by the biggest damn disco ball I have ever seen. It's a great show.

The other Floyd tribute band, The Great Gig in the Sky, is not to be missed. They are FANTASTIC!!!

Aussie Pink Floyd are not to be missed when they are in town...just incredible!

Ther are the closest we will ever get to the real thing now that Dave Gilmour wants to live a quieter life. His last solo album was really good.

Top stuff!!

I'd love to see David Gilmour using an EBMM, you never know.......

Given some of the guitars he was using on the last tour, I could see him with an Albert, a Silo Spec and also an Axis Super Sport. Come to think of it, a 20th would be (inter)stellar...

Righto chaps, I'm popping down to his studio to camp outside!!!

Fender is coming out with a Gilmour strat so I doubt we will be seeing him with an EBMM anytime soon.

Well, I don't think that there will be any kind of exclusivity deal with that. At the DVD premier in London, he played his goldtop LP for the Island Jam with the band.

On the last tour, he also used a Gretch, the goldtop, a tele, both strats plus quite a few acoustics. He's also performed some of his electric songs on acoustic as well (complete with distortion and all of the usual effects)

I think he's very much of the mindset that he'll use the right stuff for the job, regardless of who it's made by. An ASS with P90's would be a great replacement for the goldtop though.....

jimmy: i'd love to say yeah, but it's just not the same. i've tried getting rid of my LP like, 5 times. still i came back to the same issue: tone. ash is just too dry i think. wouldn't sound the same. david himself doesn't like the guitar that much. so i guess he too comes back for the sound.

and if you ask me, Sir David Gilmour is more important than fender. plus, he recently knocked jimi off from nr1 best loved strat players. i think if he came across a MM he saw a song in, he would take it home. god knows, maybe an AL!

that said, shut up about mm90 MMs, you're making the wait unbearable...
